Sia Ndaskoi won the Miss Domestic Tourism title after edging out other 28 contestants.
The winner who was picked during the Vodacom Miss Tanzania contest at Mlimani City in Dar es Salaam last Friday (October 2) was awarded various prizes worth 3.3m/- contributed jointly between the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism as well as the Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB).
The awards include a 2.2m/- cash prize and a laptop computer valued at 1.1m/-.
Speaking at the occasion, TTB Marketing Manager Geofrey Meena said that the beauty would be a driving force on the board’s plans to promote the domestic tourism concept.
“Our job has been much easier because we have got someone who will market the domestic tourism”, he said.
He said that the beauty would also work closely with the ministry and the board in marketing some of the plans aimed at raising public awareness on the domestic tourism.
In her vote of thanks, Sia Ndaskoi said she was pleased to be the tourism ambassador.
“Through a joint effort, the country’s domestic tourism can go miles. My priority would be to sensitize Tanzanians to value the country’s tourism attractions before we could invite foreigners”, she said.
