One othe the six Stadium in which Tanzania Tourist attractions are displayed on wall during the on going English Premier League The Ministry of Natural Resources in collaboration with Tanzania National Parks (TANAPA), Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA), and Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) have embarked on a new drive to promote destination Tanzania’s spectacular tourist attractions through the most popular football league, the English Premier League, that kicked off on August 14, 2010 and expected to come to an end on 22nd May, 2011. Speaking during the press conference held at the Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) headquarters in Dar es Salaam recently, the TTB’s Managing Director Dr. Aloyce Nzuki said that Tanzania becomes the first African country ever to have her promotional ads displayed in the English Premier League and indeed, this is a strategic plan to use sports as a means of promoting tourist attractions to the world, while Tanzania Tourist Board anticipate this new drive will double the number of tourist from the United Kingdom from the current 58,000 to about 100,000 yearly in the next few years. “We have entered into this contract by which our tourism promotional ads will be displayed on the walls within football pitch during the 114 games”, says Dr Nzuki. He further noted that TTB has subscribed to advertise in six stadiums by placing 30 seconds digital video adverts that will appear six times per game. Mentioned the stadiums those owned by Blackburn Rovers, Newcastle United, Stoke City, Sunderland, West Bromwich and Wolves. Three campaigns will be run to feature Mountain Kilimanjaro climbing, Wildlife safaris and Zanzibar beaches whose ads already were displayed on August 14 games between Blackburn Rovers Vs Everton, Sunderland Vs Birmingham, and Wolves Vs Stoke City. |

The United Republic of Tanzania MINISTRY OF NATURAL RESOURCES AND TOURISM The Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism is set to host the most spectacular and highest Harley-Davidson Motorbike Rally to be held in Africa early next year to among other things promote tourism in the country.
The rally, which will also cover portions of neighbouring Kenya will be held from February 14 to 27, 2011 and will cover a total of 3,120 kilometres. Out of those kilometres, 2,350 will be covered in Tanzania while the other 770 will be covered in the neighbouring country.
Harley-Davidson motorbike is a renowned American motorbike company that manufactures and sells Harley-Davidson motorbikes worldwide. Mr Jean Marc-Chapel is a French national owning a Harley-Davidson Franchise company in France. The company organises Harley-Davidson Motorbikes Grand Rally annually in different countries since 2004. The upcoming one is carrying the name Harley-Davidson Motorbikes Kilimanjaro Safari Rally in order to suit destination Tanzania and achieve maximum marketing and promotion of the event.
This event will play major boost to the tourism sector as the rally will involve over 70 tourists who will explore various sites in the country and also attract huge media coverage in and out of the country. The Government is prepared to support the event and ensure that it records great success. To facilitate this event, we have formed a committee with members from Tanzania Revenue Authority, Police, Immigration, Ministry of Information and Culture, TANAPA, NCAA, Automobile Association of Tanzania and the Zanzibar Commission for Tourism.
Ground operations of the Rally are being coordinated by Kibo Travel Bureau Ltd, a tourist company registered in Tanzania, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism (Tourism Division, Tanzania Tourist Board, Tanzania National Parks, and Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority) is the chief supporter and promoter of the event.
The Rally which consists of 43 motorbikes and 10 service vehicles will bring to Tanzania over 70 tourists and will start in Dar es Salaam and end in Dar es Salaam. “Eleven days will be in Tanzania and three days in Kenya. The 70 participants will enter the Serengeti and Ngorongoro parks for game viewing and short rest before rejoining the rally. This event is not a competition rather it is an expedition adventure.
The Rally will pass through Chalinze, Lushoto, Marangu, Arusha, Ngorongoro, Serengeti and crossing the border to Kenya through Namanga and re-enter the country through Horohoro to Tanga, Chalinze and back to Dar es Salaam then crossing by ferry to Zanzibar and back to Dar es Salaam.
Stop over will be arranged along the route in order to provide the opportunity for the Rally to promote other good courses in areas such Malaria, HIV and other sponsored activities. Preparations are underway to involve these other activities. I wish to inform the public that this event has attracted great enthusiasm to the extent that participation in the Rally has been fully booked.
The event will be covered by international and local media. Liberty TV will produce a 50 minutes documentary movie that will be aired 24 times next year and promote Tanzania to millions of viewers around the world. Freeway magazine published by Harley-Davidson started to publish the event in June 2010. Over 50,000 copies have been circulated. A special edition was printed this month and a third edition will be published in 2011 dedicated to the Rally.

A picture of a Plantinum award “Tanzania -the Land of Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar & the Serengeti”, a 60-seconds commercial produced for the Tanzania Tourist Board, has won a Platinum REMI award at the just ended 43 rd Annual WorldFest Houston International Film Festival. According to EPIC Global Media this is the EPIC’s third award for the commercial, following the CINE Golden Eagle awarded in 2009 and its recent success at the Golden Stadttor (Golden City Gate) international film and media competition at the prestigious ITB tourism event in Berlin German. “We are very delighted to win this award, this is just a continuation of a number of awards we have won at international area, and this is clear evidence of our efforts of Marketing Tanzania as a tourist destination” says the TTB’ Managing Director Dr. Aloyce Nzuki The TTB film was among the thousands of film from all over the world submitted in the International Festival competition organized by WorldFest Houston which is one of the oldest film festival in the World and honours “outstanding creative excellence in film and Video” The festivals draws thousands of entries each year from all over the World. The film produced in DVD format was jointly made in Tanzania by the Tanzania Tourist Board and EPIC Global Media of USA to promote Tanzania as a tourist destination.
The EPIC Global Media Director Tiffany Steven, Producer, Sabrina Heinekey, Production Manager, James Brown and Editor , Clint Burkett are also extremely pleased to be recognized for their work and to be able to draw further attention to the delights of Tanzania. |

Jumla ya watu 1870 kutoka kote nchini walishiriki katika shindano hilo huku washiriki 305 miongoni mwao wakiwa wamejibu sahihi maswali yote kumi yaliyoulizwa na hivyo kufuzu kuingia katika droo ya mwisho ya kuwapata washindi wawili waliotunukiwa safari hiyo.

The Tanzania Tourist Board is in its first stage of developing a brand for Destination Tanzania. In establishing the brand, the first stage will be to do an image investigation, which will be done through a questionnaire based survey and later through the holding of a number of stakeholders’ workshops. The results of the survey and workshops will enable the Board to establish the destination’s image and later develop a brand which will be used to promote Destination Tanzania. The survey will involve non-residents and will be carried out in selected tourist hotels, airports and tourist areas in Dar-es-salaam, Arusha and Zanzibar from August 2010. The launching of the brand is expected to take place in 2011. The managing director of Tanzania Tourist Board Dr Aloyce Nzuki presents a T-shirt to his excellence Sander Gurbuz The Ambassador of Turkey in Tanzania His Excellence Sander Gurbuz has assured Tanzania Tourist Board of the full support Turkish Government in Marketing and Promoting destination Tanzania in Turkey so as to increase awareness of Tanzania’s unique tourist attritions to the people of Turkey. The ambassador disclosed that his office will undertake special assignments to attract investments by approaching and convincing Turkish investors to invest in the tourism industry.
His Excellence Gurbuz made this statement recently at Headquarters of the Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) located in IPS building when he paid a visit and hold discussions with the TTB’s Managing Director Dr Aloyce Nzuki , Director of Marketing Mr. Amant Macha and other senior officials of the Board in which he promised to work closely with TTB so that to increase the number of visitors from Turkey visiting Tanzania annually.
Translation of some promotional materials in Turkish language and DVDs as one area of support to offer. He appealed to TTB to undertake aggressive marketing campaign in Turkey using various techniques such as advertising in Turkish travel trade magazines, TV travel programs, billboards in different cities etc. He said that Turkey is a very potential market for Tanzania as it is ranked number seven among the most visited countries in the world. The ambassador discloses his happiness on the beginning of direct flights of Turkish Airline from Istanbul, Turkey to Dar Es Salaam Tanzania which has been operational since 14 June, 2010. He believes this will play a vital role in linking the two countries and gear up the development of tourism sector in Tanzania.
He pointed out that having the operation of Turkish Airline in place was one of the assignments and he now feels very proud of to fulfill this mission. “My first assignment was to ensure that the Turkish Airlines flies to Tanzania, now I have one crucial task remaining ahead which is to convince investors from Turkey to come and invest in Tanzania particularly in Tourism sector”. He said.
He mentioned Tanzania as a unique destination since it has everything that can attract tourists, and predicted that about 15,000 tourists from Turkey will visit Tanzania by the end of this season. “Tanzania is a country of diversity in terms of tourism, it has everything that a tourist would like to see and enjoy. You have spectacular and unique attractions such as Kilimanjaro the highest Mountain in Africa, various wildlife, Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti National Park which is the site of Animal Migration to mention but few. He said that out of 70 Million population of Turkey, 7 million which is 10% travel abroad every year as tourists.
On his side The Managing Director of Tanzania Tourist Board Dr. Aloyce Nzuki said that TTB has been very much impressed by the commitment staged by the Government of Turkey through the Turkish ambassador in Tanzania in supporting the TTB efforts of penetrating the Turkish Market including introduction of direct flights of Turkish airline to Tanzania. “Indeed It gives us a lot of courage and we have all the reasons to intensify marketing campaign in Turkey” Commented Dr Nzuki. He added that with the introduction of the direct flights from Istanbul Turkey to Dar – Es-salaam Tanzania TTB believes that the number of visitors from Turkey will constantly increase. According to the available statistics, Tanzania receives an average of 618 tourists from Turkey. |

Speaking during the dinner reception prepared by Pongo Safaris at Moevenpick Royal Palm Hotel in Dar es salaam in honor of the expedition team which was in the country on their way to South Africa, the Managing Director of Tanzania Tourist Board Dr Aloyce Nzuki noted that Brazil whose population is about 400 million people is a country that Tanzania need to focus on as one of the potential tourists market. “To start with if we can manage to attract at least one percent of the population of your country it would be a wonderful inception. The remarks were made in respond to the ambassador of Brazil in Tanzania H.E Francisco Carlos Soares Luz’s appeal to Tanzania Tourist Board to consider introducing marketing and promotional campaign in Brazil. He cited Mt. Kilimanjaro as one of the Tanzania tourist’s icon that can attract the majority of travelers from Brazil if TTB can launch a deliberate sensitization campaign to this country. Tanzania Tourist Board in collaboration with Pongo Safaris recently coordinated the Lights of Africa Media Expeditions in Tanzania which comprised of two journalists led by Mr Haroldo Castro, a veteran journalist and photographer specialized in nature and conservation, the other one is Mr Mikael Castro who is an anthropologist and ecotourism specialist. During their expedition in Tanzania the journalists visited Serengeti National parks, Ngorongoro crater, Selous game reserve and Ruaha and then cross the border to Malawi, Mozambique and South Africa for the coverage of world cup tournament. While in Tanzania the journalists were feeding Brazilian Media organizations with stories on abundant tourists attractions Tanzania is endowed with, including a a bi-weekly column on EPOCA Magazine , bi-weekly English column on www.lightsofarica.com, EP and Global Televisions in Brazil According to the available statistics Tanzania receives an average of 666 tourists from Brazil every year.
